  What is the Premier League? The English Premier League or EPL  is one of the most prestigious football leagues in the world. Founded in 1992, this will be the 30th season of the Popular league. You'll see 20 teams battling it out for the championship. The league is usually played between August and May. It lasted 380 matches and the final to determine the Premier League championship took place in late May. Premier League calendar 2021 The start of last year's Premier League was delayed by a month, namely September. Not this time. The 2021 EPL  will begin on Saturday 14 August 2021. That means players will start playing in about a month after Euro 2020 ends. It's a short break before returning to pre-season. This year's Premier League season will end on Sunday, 22 May 2022.
